This week, the Greater Lansing Food Bank received a check for $3672.50, the proceeds raised during restaurant week, a popular area-wide event held this past July 12 – 19. These gratefully-received dollars will help produce 28,000 meals for those in need in our community.
Ann Marie Pooler and Shannon Jakovac, representatives from event sponsor Earthy Delights and Jan Pfeiffer from event sponsor the Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau were on hand to present the check to Kim Diane Shapiro, Greater Lansing Food Bank external relations manager. Representatives from sponsors City Pulse, WILX and Cherry Capital Foods were in attendance as well.
Eighteen restaurants participated this year, offering specially-priced three-course meals during the week-long event, with 10 percent of all proceeds from the meals being donated to the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
Thanks to everyone that supported the CARW15 and we look forward to seeing you in 2016!
